BEFRIENDING SCHEME
Age Concern Lewisham has a Befriending scheme to help provide friendship and company for older people. Older people can sometimes find it difficult going out, or friends and neighbours may not be around to visit - this service is here to help.
The Befriending scheme helps to bring together older people with a local and committed volunteer. The scheme helps to introduce you to volunteer and from there, you can meet regularly for a chat and a cup of tea, or perhaps visit local places of interest - it's up to you.
We hope that this scheme will provide you with someone to talk over your worries, share your memories, set the world to rights and just be a friend.
This service is free and all volunteers are checked through the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) to ensure that you can trust them.
