MACMILLAN PALLIATIVE CARE

Why not view our new film which features the Macmillan Palliative Care Scheme.

This short film gives a great insight into our work with local older people. The film highlights the support Age Concern Southwark care workers give to many older people who have a terminal illness.

In October 2004, Age Concern Southwark launched the Macmillan Palliative Care Service. This service funded by Macmillan Cancer Relief supports older people who are living with cancer or another terminal illness.

The service is available to Southwark residents aged 65 or over and enables them to remain at home, when this is their wish, by providing high quality personal and practical care as well as emotional support for them and their families.

The service has a full-time co-ordinator Antonia Campbell who ensures the smooth running of the service. Antonia visits and assesses service users, discusses the needs of the service user and then ensures that the service is provided as soon as possible.
