MENTALLY FRAIL ELDERS
The centre is currently run from D'Eynsford Road and is open to Service Users on Fridays, Saturday, Sundays and Mondays.
The centre helps to provide much needed respite care to families at the weekend. Most of the service users are also referred by Community Psychiatric Nurses from the Maudsley Hospital. These users have a high dependency level and the Centre Manager has a close liaison with Social Services and Community Pyschiatric Nurses.
Currently there are 15 clients regularly attending the centre.
Activities at the centre range from arts and crafts, dominos, knitting, crocheting, light arm chair excercises, reminiscence and group chats.
During the summer the clients are taken on trips to places such as Brighton, Hampton Court, Winsdor Castle and on a holiday to Folkestone for a very enjoyable holiday.
There are also some clients who take part in gardening, the garden at the back of the centre has been cultivated into a wonderful vegetable garden.
